About ANC

The hard part isn't the idea.
It's the archipelago.

Indonesia is one country and five time zones' worth of logistics. A venue in Jakarta and a venue in Labuan Bajo require completely different vendors, permits, transport and contingency planning — and most agencies only really know one of them.

PT Alternative Nation Cipta was founded in 2013 to be the exception: a single production company that holds direct contracts with vendors in every destination we sell. When we quote Raja Ampat, we are not brokering it through a third party. We hold the permits, we know the boat captains, and we carry the risk ourselves.

That structure is why international clients choose to run their Indonesian programmes with us. Your head office gets one contract, one invoice, one accountable party, and documentation that survives an audit. Your team on the ground gets people who have already solved the problem you are about to hit.

2013Founded in Jakarta

Three producers and a single client: a manufacturing group needing an annual meeting for 400 people.

2016Bali operations open

A permanent team on the island, ending our reliance on subcontracted local coordination.

2019First 2,000-delegate conference

A regional industry congress at JCC Jakarta, establishing our MICE division.

2022Eastern Indonesia division

Labuan Bajo base opened with in-house park permits and charter relationships.

20261,240 events delivered

Clients in 38 countries, an in-house team of 46, and a vendor network spanning 22 cities.

Why ANC

Eight reasons clients
sign a second time.

Most of our work comes from repeat business. These are the reasons clients give when we ask them why.

01

Professional Team

Forty-six full-time staff — producers, technical directors, facilitators and guest relations officers. Not a network of freelancers assembled per project.

02

Transparent Budget

You see what each vendor charges and what we add on top. Any rebate we negotiate goes to you, not into our margin.

03

Worldwide Clients

Companies from 38 countries have run programmes with us. We work in English, quote against your currency, and understand procurement.

04

Creative Concept

A creative director on every project. We start from your business objective and work backwards, not from a template deck of themes.

05

Fast Execution

Our record from brief to delivered launch is eleven days. Not something we recommend — but proof of what the team can absorb.

06

Trusted Vendors

Direct contracts with 340 vetted suppliers across 22 cities. We audit safety, insurance and financial standing annually.

07

Nationwide Coverage

From Sumatra to Papua. If a destination is new to us, we run a costed site inspection and open it properly rather than guessing.

08

International Standard

Public liability cover, written risk assessments, documented run-downs and post-event financial reporting on every project. As standard.

Services

Eighteen disciplines,
one accountable team.

Every service below is delivered by our own staff and our own contracted vendors. Nothing is resold.

Process

Six stages.
You always know which one you're in.

The sequence below is genuinely sequential — each stage produces the document the next one depends on.

01

Consultation

A briefing call to establish objectives, budget range, guest profile and non-negotiables. We ask what success looks like in your own words, and we write it down.

Days 1–2 · Output: signed brief

02

Planning

Destination and venue shortlisting, format design and a feasibility check on dates, permits and capacity. You get options with honest trade-offs, not one recommendation.

Days 3–7 · Output: concept options

03

Proposal

A full costed proposal: creative concept, run-down, vendor list, itemised budget and terms. This is the document you take to procurement.

Days 8–12 · Output: costed proposal

04

Preparation

Contracting, permits, deposits, site inspection, technical drawings, rehearsal schedule and the risk assessment. Weekly progress calls throughout.

Contract to −7 days · Output: production book

05

Execution

Load-in, rehearsal, show. One project director on one number from the first truck to the last teardown. Your team runs content; we run everything else.

Event days · Output: the event

06

Evaluation

Financial reconciliation against the signed budget, guest feedback analysis, and a written debrief with recommendations for next time.

+14 days · Output: final report

Clients

In their words.

★★★★★

We brought 240 people from nine countries to Labuan Bajo. ANC handled every flight, every permit and every meal, and the only thing our team had to do was run the sessions. Flawless is a strong word. It applies here.

FAQ

Twenty-two answers,
before you have to ask.

How far in advance should we book?

For events under 200 guests, eight to twelve weeks is comfortable. For MICE formats, destination programmes or anything in peak season (June to August, December), we recommend four to six months. We do take shorter briefs — the record is eleven days for a 300-guest launch — but earlier booking buys you better venues at better rates.

Do you work with clients based outside Indonesia?

Yes. Roughly 60% of our work comes from companies headquartered outside Indonesia. We run planning in English, quote in IDR with USD, SGD or EUR reference conversions, and work across time zones with scheduled weekly calls.

How does your pricing work?

We quote a single project fee that includes our management fee, and we show you the underlying vendor costs. You see what the venue charges, what catering charges, and what we add. There are no hidden commissions, and any vendor rebate we negotiate is passed to you.

What is the payment schedule?

Typically 40% on contract signing to secure venue and key vendors, 40% at thirty days before the event, and 20% within fourteen days after. For government and large corporate clients we can align with your procurement terms.

Can you handle payments in foreign currency?

Yes. We invoice in IDR by default and can invoice in USD or SGD via our corporate account. Exchange rates are fixed at contract date so your budget does not move with the market.

Are you a registered company we can put through procurement?

Yes. PT Alternative Nation Cipta is a registered Indonesian limited company with NPWP, NIB and full tax compliance. We routinely supply company deeds, tax clearance and bank references for vendor registration.

Do you provide insurance?

All events carry public liability cover. Adventure and outdoor programmes carry additional participant accident cover. Certificates are provided before the event and can be issued in your company's name where required.

What happens if the weather turns?

Every outdoor programme is contracted with a wet-weather alternative in the same venue or within fifteen minutes of it. We hold the alternative until 48 hours before, and the cost is built into your quote — not added later.

Can you manage international guest travel?

Yes. We handle flights, visa support letters, airport fast track, rooming lists, transfers and a 24-hour guest hotline. For groups over 50 we place a dedicated guest relations officer at the arrival terminal.

Do you offer interpretation?

We provide simultaneous interpretation in English, Mandarin, Japanese, Korean, Arabic and Bahasa Indonesia, with booths and receivers. Consecutive interpretation is available for smaller formats.

How many people from ANC will be on site?

It scales with the event. A 100-guest dinner runs with four to six of our people. A 1,000-guest conference runs with a core team of twelve plus contracted crew. You will always know the names and roles before the day.

Who is our contact during the event?

One project director, reachable on a single number from load-in to teardown. You do not chase departments.

Can we use our own vendors?

Yes. If you have preferred suppliers — a photographer, an AV partner, a caterer — we integrate and coordinate them at no additional management fee. We ask only that they meet our safety and insurance requirements.

Do you handle permits and licensing?

Yes, and this is where local knowledge matters most. We handle municipal event permits, police notifications, national park permits, alcohol licences, drone clearance and noise permits as part of the project.

What is included in your team building debrief?

A facilitated session at the end of the programme plus a written report within five working days: observed team dynamics, communication patterns, and specific recommendations. For leadership camps this includes individual assessment notes.

Can you deliver an event in a location you haven't worked before?

Yes. We run a site inspection with the client, build the vendor network locally, and price the inspection into the project. We have opened new destinations for clients in Sumba, Belitung and Wakatobi this way.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellation more than 90 days out refunds everything except non-recoverable vendor deposits. Between 90 and 30 days, 50% of the project fee applies. Inside 30 days, the full fee applies, though we will always try to reschedule instead.

Do you offer sustainable or low-impact event options?

Yes. We can deliver events with no single-use plastics, locally sourced catering, digital-only collateral, carbon-offset transport and waste separation with a measured diversion rate. We report the numbers afterwards.

Can you produce content from the event?

Every project includes photography. Video, same-day highlight reels, livestream production and social content packages are available and are quoted separately so you can scale them to your needs.

How do we start?

Send a brief — even a rough one — to hello@alternativenation.co.id or message us on WhatsApp. We respond within one working day with initial questions, and deliver a full costed proposal within five working days of the briefing call.

Do you require a site visit before quoting?

Not for destinations we work in regularly, which covers most of the country. For new locations we quote on desk research and confirm after inspection. Either way the quote we sign is the quote you pay.

What sets ANC apart from a local vendor?

Two things. We hold the contracts with vendors rather than brokering them, so the accountability is ours. And we work to international standards on documentation, safety and reporting — which matters when your head office needs to audit the spend.
